I know that sometimes I come off as a little shy. Sort of...stiff. Mean people say I'm a tad "plastic". But that's not my intention. I'm just very private. It's hard for me to talk about me because it's... dangerous. But, since this page is supposed to be about me, (heavy sigh) I'll try to divulge as much information as I can, and still not blow my cover.
I've been writing now, for a couple of decades under a number of pen names. Landey Corwyn is my current Nom dePlume. My real name is top secret, for--can I trust you? Yes, if you are here, you must be cool--okay then, my name is top secret for witness protection reasons.
Very messy. Did teach me not to get so "into" my research for the mystery novel I'm researching on menopause and the mafia, (Toohotmamas: Alarmed and Dangerous) though. More on that series later, when I'm closer to being done with the manuscript...(and they've put Big Eddie [not his real name] and the entire Scarpoletti family behind bars. Shh!)
Anyway...I digress. I am a wife, mother and writer. In that order. At one point, NASA asked me to participate in the Space Program by allowing me to be the first soccer mom in space, but one of my kids had a game, so no go. I'm very serious about family. I'm also extremely serious about writing. I have won two Rita Awards from Romance Writer's of America, as you can see in the above picture, and I got a Moondance nod on my screenplay, also won the Kate Snow for that one, too. To date, I have written over 50 romance novels for five different publishers. So, that's my career in a nutshell...There are rumors that there is some interest regarding Hollywood optioning Alarmed and Dangerous, but we'll have to see if the Feds catch up with Eddie before we can greenlight that.
My personal life is, of course, also top secret. However, I can divulge that I am married. Have been married to the same wonderful man since the day I said "I do, I do, I do!" Right now, I'll simply refer to him as Ken. Ken Corwyn. Ken and I have six fabulous children, Four girls and two boys ages 18 to 10. Some of them are adopted. And though, some of them are not exactly "Scottish" if you get my drift, Ken and I can never seem to remember which ones are which. We also have five dogs and one cat. Yeah, it's a menagerie. But, each kid wanted a pet and they always tend to ask me for a puppy when I'm up to my ears in a deadline and I'm not exactly paying attention.
Of course, I can't tell you where I live now, (duh) but I can tell you that I was born in Southern California, moved to the Pacific Northwest and started raising the family up there. I always wanted to be an actress, but that wasn't really conducive to family life, so I decided telling stories was just as much fun as acting them out. I wrote my first novel for Silhouette Romance, in the early 90's and never looked back.
Now that the kids are in school, I can't believe how much I am able to write! Twice as much as I was, so look for the Buchanan's to come out several times a year from Entangled Publishing, quite possibly the world's coolest publisher! In fact, check them out! The button below actually works!
